What are the tech requirements for my participation in Your Actor MBA?
To enjoy the videos that are a part of Your Actor MBA, make sure you have access to: Adobe Flash Player 10.0.22 or above, Microsoft Windows XP SP2 or later, Macintosh OS X 10.4 or above, or Linux Internet Explorer 6.0 or above, Firefox 2.0 or above, or Safari 3.0, or Chrome 4.0 or above. JavaScript and Cookies must also be enabled. In addition, you will need a broadband connection with at least 500+Kbps.
What do I do if the stream looks choppy or keeps cutting out?
The quality of a broadcast depends on many factors, including the type of equipment in use, the stability of the Internet connection, the upload speed, etc. These factors are all up to the broadcaster, and not Your Actor MBA. A majority of problems experienced are based on low bandwidth or local Internet issues, which unfortunately Your Actor MBA cannot control.
Potential Causes:
Insufficient Internet bandwidth: It is possible that the upload speed of your Internet connection is too slow. Check your Internet connection at www.speedtest.net. We recommend an upload speed minimum of at least 500+Kbps.
Insufficient CPU: Ensure additional programs are not running in the background or accessing the Internet (i.e. iTunes, Skype, Napster, email, iChat, etc.). Your stream can become choppy if your CPU usage is so high that it causes your computer to slow down. This can affect both the broadcaster stream quality and viewer stream quality.
Troubleshooting:
Close all other programs: By closing other programs running on your computer (iTunes, Skype, AIM, email, iChat), you will free up CPU and help your computer run faster.
What if I get error messages when viewing the stream?
Potential Causes:
Firewall Issues: It may be possible that you are behind a firewall that has blocked off the necessary ports that allow Your Actor MBA to connect.
Flash: It may be possible that you do not have the most updated version of Flash or your Flash has been corrupted.
Troubleshooting
Open Firewalls: You want to check whether the standard ports for video streaming and chat are blocked. They are port number 1935 for video streaming and port number 3306 for IRC chat. Here is information on how to open the ports:
Update Flash.
What if my stream keeps disconnecting?
If your stream keeps disconnecting, it is likely an Internet issue. Achievable speeds with Internet connections fluctuate. Depending on your set-up and settings, broadcasting will dominate between 300-700kbps.
What if I can’t see or view a video?
If you cannot view a stream, this could be because of a firewall. The following is a guide on how to allow streaming on common blocking applications:
Adblock Plus extension (Firefox): Locate the “APB” stop sign (usually upper right on your browser), click the down-arrow next to it and choose “Disable on youractormba.com.” (There may be more than one.)
“Noscript” add-on for Firefox. Locate the blue “S” on the bottom of your task bar and/or “opinions” and allow youractormba.com. (May need to allow more than one.)
IE7Pro AdBlock: Locate the blue “E” icon in the lower-right corner of your browser. Right-click it, and select “AD Blocker,” then “Don’t Filter This Site.” (Anything with youractormba.com.)
SafariBlock: Open Safari Preferences, choose the SafariBlock tab, and click the “Disable” button.
Kaspersky Internet Security: You have a couple of options: (1.) Pause Protection: Right-click the red/black “K” (Kaspersky Icon) in the lower-right corner of your screen. Click “Pause Protection.” Choose an appropriate time period from the drop-down menu. Then click outside of the drop menu. The window will disappear, and the “K” will turn gray. You can now surf our site for the time period chosen. (2.) Turn Off Anti Banner: Right-click the red “K” in the lower-right corner of your screen. Choose “Open Kaspersky Internet Security.” Choose “Firewall” in the left menu. Then click “Configure.” Then choose “Firewall” in the left menu of the pop-up screen. Finally, un-check “Enable Anti Banner.”
ZoneAlarm Pro firewall: You can turn off ad blocking under the “Privacy” tab and slide the “Ad Blocking” control to the “off” position. NOTICE: there is no reason to disable ZoneAlarm, only the banner blocking option needs to be disabled.
Norton Internet Security:
2005/06: Open Norton Internet Security. In the main window, double-click “Ad Blocking” and then uncheck “Ad Blocking.” NOTICE: there is no reason to disable NIS, only the ad-blocking feature needs to be disabled to access this site. Alternatively, in some versions, you can click the Norton icon in the toolbar (lower right corner) and select “Allow ads from this site” OR uncheck the box that says “block ads from this site.”
2007: This version didn’t come out with built-in security for ad blockers. However, there is an available add-on called Norton Security Center. Click the “Add-On Pack” tab at the top. Click “Ad-Blocking,” then “Configure.” In the new window click “Advanced.” Now click the button that says “Add Site,” and type in youractormba.com. Click “OK.” This adds the site to the left column. Now ensure that youractormba.com is selected in the left column, and click the “Add” button. In the prompt, click “Permit” and type “ad” in the window (without the quotes). Click “OK” three times. You can now close Norton Control Center and restart your browser.
AdSubtract: Right mouse-click on the AdSubtract icon in your task tray (looks like an orange circle with a plus and minus sign) and select “Disable AdSubtract.”
WebWasher: Right mouse-click on the WebWasher icon in your task tray (looks like a blue circle with a white “W”) and then select “Deactivate standard filter.”
What if a vid is stuck loading?
This could be caused by a number of things. First, you’ll need a broadband connection with at least 500+Kbps. If your connection speed meets the minimum requirement but you are still stuck on the loading screen, please try:
Step 1: Refresh your browser’s page a couple of times. Often times, the video will play once you’ve refreshed the screen a few times. If the video has been stuck on loading for a long time, try:
Step 2: Clear your browser’s cache and cookies. Relaunch your browser. Try watching the video again. Still not working?
Step 3: Upgrade your current browser or switch to another browser and try again.
If none of these steps work it could be a temporary server issue. Please, try again later.
What does it mean if I have been banned by the moderator?
If you were banned from viewing streams or participating in the forums, please contact support@youractomba.com. Your ban is determined by the number of violations you incur. Violations can result in sharing logins (only one IP address will be allowed to view content at a time) or inappropriate behavior in forum discussions.
Are there any known compatibility issues with the Your Actor MBA website?
When browsing the web using Internet Explorer or an Internet browser that hasn’t been updated, you may encounter issues such as pictures or videos failing to load. Listed below are some suggestions on troubleshooting the issue.
Clear temporary Internet files. Clearing your temporary Internet files creates more space on your hard disk. If your hard disk is close to being full, this could affect your ability to view pictures or videos on a website.
Check out your Internet security settings. If the security settings are too high, they may block pictures or videos from being displayed.
Verify that Show Pictures is enabled. Check to make sure that you do not have your image loading disabled or have document-specified backgrounds overridden in your Internet settings.
Enable scripting, ActiveX controls, cookies, and Java programs. Enable scripting, ActiveX controls, cookies, and Java programs to make sure that your computer is set up to enable Web pages to run the way that they were designed to.
Make sure that a third-party Internet security, firewall, or cookie-blocking program is not causing the problem. If you are using a third-party Internet security, firewall, or cookie-blocking program, contact the manufacturer of the program for information about how to enable scripting, ActiveX controls, cookies, Java programs, advertisements, and HTTP referral information. If you access the Internet through a local area network (LAN), contact the administrator of your LAN to verify that scripting, ActiveX controls, cookies, Java programs, advertisements, and HTTP referral information are not blocked by a firewall or by other security features on the network.

How can I watch vids in full-screen mode?
Full-screen mode is currently disabled.
How do I embed the Your Actor MBA player?
You can’t. Sorry. Because our course is for members only, the player on which each episode is streamed is only functional within the pages of YourActorMBA.com.
What if the player is giving me audio issues?
Most of the audio issues can be fixed with very simple adjustments. Make sure that the video you’re watching isn’t muted and that the volume is not set too low. Check that your computer speaker volumes and settings are correctly set. On a Windows computer, you can check this by double-clicking the volume icon in the System Tray and making sure that none of your volume settings are muted. On a Macintosh system, the volume controls are located in the top right corner of the screen. Check that other media speakers such as Windows Media Player or QuickTime can output audio. Are you able to hear a video that’s stored locally on your computer? Restart the browser and try watching videos again. Try re-booting your computer. If these steps do not resolve your issue, you may need to reinstall your Flash drivers. To do so, uninstall Flash following this link. Restart your computer. Reinstall the latest version of Flash here.
